Rochester Rookies creates opportunities for children and young adults with physical disabilities to participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair and ambulatory sport. Endless Highway has sponsored Shea's custom wheelchair and has identified two athletes in need of custom wheelchairs. Practice is held on Saturdays from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at SUNY College at Brockport, Tuttle North Gymnasium.
The Rochester Rockets is a youth wheelchair basketball team launched in June 2019 as an inclusive, adaptive basketball program welcoming youth aged 6-18 with and without physical disabilities to learn wheelchair basketball skills and opportunities for competition. Endless Highway sponsored the purchase of 6 basketball wheelchairs. The program is made possible by Rochester Accessible Adventures and mentorship through Rochester Wheels Practice is held every Sunday at 1 PM at the Campbell Street Recreation Center.
Michael Amy Yoga & Physical Therapy
Michael Amy is a Registered Yoga Teager at Open Sky, and a licenses Physical Therapist with 20 years of experience. Michael Amy believes yoga can be accessible to everyone and Endless Highway has sponsored sessions of his Yoga for Every Ability class. Sessions are held at Central Rock Gym every Thursday from 4:15 -5:30 PM every Thursday.
Rochester's Virtual Reality Arcade supports accessible opportunities through virtual reality and gaming. Endless Highway has partnered with Veracity VRcade to bring The Rochester Rookies and families members to experience virtual roller coaster rides, downhill skiing, skydiving, plank walks, and more.
Monroe Wheelchair has been providing products to customers to allow them to experience their full potential in life since 1941. Endless Highway has partnered up with Monroe Wheelchair to provide at-cost customized equipment to kids and young adults (like Shea) so that they can get the right fit for their activities and needs.
